Membership

Camp Hill Presbyterian Church is a warm and welcoming faith community. It is a place where you will feel at home. It is a place where your faith will grow and your relationship with God will be nurtured. We welcome you and invite you to become a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church.

​​What is the meaning of church membership?

The Presbyterian understanding of church membership is based on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. One becomes an active member of the church through faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, and acceptance of his Lordship in all of life. 

​

The Presbyterian Church is part of the universal church of Jesus Christ, yet also unique due to its protestant theology and self governance. Still, as Paul teaches in Ephesians 4:5-6, we have "one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and one Father of us all."

What responsibilities does one accept in becoming a member at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church?

A faithful member accepts Christ's call to be involved. Such involvement may include;

  • proclaiming the good news of the gospel to others,

  • taking part in worship and the activities of the church,

  • engaging in prayer and study,

  • supporting the work of the Church through gifts of money, time, and talents,

  • participating in or supporting the leadership responsibilities of the Church,

  • being of service to others,

  • living responsibly,

  • working for peace, justice, freedom, and human fulfillment.

 

When a person becomes a member of Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, they enter into a joyful community of faith. We pledge to love and support each other as we grow together as Christ's disciples.

New Member Classes

If you would like to know more about our church and its beliefs, why not attend a prospective members’ class? These classes explore life at Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and the history and beliefs of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Attendance at a prospective members’ class is a prerequisite for membership.

 

New member classes are scheduled on a bi-monthly basis during Sunday School hours. When specific dates and times are identified they are posted here and on on our events page.
