Children and Youth Programs
COVID-19 & Christian Education Programs
Unfortunately, the COVID pandemic has made it necessary to temporarily curtail or modify many of our programs. On the positive side, it has prompted a significant growth in the church's capabilities to carry on the mission using media, distance learning, teleconferencing and other means. The information presented below reflects current practices and are subject to change due to changes in COVID safety protocols.
Children Are Always Welcome
We welcome children to watch and participate in worship in the sanctuary. Age-appropriate activity packets are provided for your child’s use. During the school year, Labor Day to Memorial Day, a nursery, staffed by trained adults, is available for newborns to children age 6 during the service. The nursery is located in our education wing. Signs show the way to the nursery from all locations. Any Welcomer (they have name tags) will be delighted to help you locate both the packets and nursery.
“I pray that…Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
as you are being rooted and grounded in love.”
Children Are Encouraged to Grow in Faith Through Participation
From birth to adulthood, children and youth are nurtured and encouraged to explore their faith. Each child and every youth is important and it truly is a blessing to watch them grow. Through out the year we have events and programs to meet the needs of our children and youth, both the need to learn and to have fun. From Sunday School to Summer Vacation Bible School (VBS) to Mission Trips and even a good old fashioned Church Picnic, we strive to include each and every child, teen and adult.
Help us know you and your child better and fill out our registration form. Forms can be turned in at the church office or at any church event. Thank you for helping understand the needs of your child. If you have any confidential concerns please bring them to the attention of our Pastors.
Youth Nurture Opportunities
Every Sunday During the School Year
Sunday Family Worship for Children (age 0 to grade 5)
Families with kids under 12 will encounter stories from the Bible through our “family service” via Zoom at 9 a.m. each Sunday morning. Topics are age-appropriate, interactive, and materials for follow-up activities and family discussion are often provided.
These interactive worship services typically last from 20 to 30 minutes and feature songs, stories and a “show-and-tell” style children’s message.
Youth Sunday School (middle and high school)
Youth in middle school and high school meet for 30 minutes on Zoom at 7 p.m. each Sunday.
