Christmas season can be such a difficult time for those grieving loss, battling disease, or confronting other difficulties in life. As everyone around them is filled with the joy of the season, their hearts are filled with sadness, loneliness, or depression. In those moments we say we are feeling “blue,” but in the church blue is the color of hope. The hope we celebrate during Advent is the coming of the Christ who is the Light of Life that shines in our darkness. (John 1:4)
During this special service — one at noon and one at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5 — through song and prayer we will experience the light, healing, and love of the Child born in Bethlehem who is our Lord Emmanuel (God-with-us)!
